AERIAL ARTS JACKSONVILLE

Aerial Arts

Women-only aerial silks, hammock, and lyra in Jacksonville. Safe for beginners with expert guidance in every class.

WHAT IT IS

What aerial arts are, and who they are for

At InShape, aerial arts are about strength, grace, and fun. We offer three circus apparatuses to create beautiful shapes, stylish inversions, graceful flows, and gravity-defying movements. Each one builds strength and feels a little like flying. Beginners are always welcome, with progressive steps and spotting so you feel safe from your very first class. Silks are two long, flowing pieces of fabric suspended from a single point. Hammock is a single continuous loop of fabric hanging from either two points or a single point. Lyra, also known as aerial hoop, is a circular metal ring dangling in the air. All three apparatuses use climbs, wraps, drops, and spins to create stunning choreography.

We believe aerial is for all women regardless of age or size. We're women supporting women who are willing to take a leap and try something new.

The classes, from your first wrap to full choreography

  1. Beginner Aerial Hammock

In Beginner Aerial Hammock, students learn how to use the single loop of fabric to create fun shapes and innovative flows. The class explores balance, strength, flexibility, and fluidity as students learn to navigate the fabric. Each session starts with a warm-up, moves through a series of tricks and flows, and finishes with a relaxing cooldown wrapped in the fabric. Beginner hammock is a gentler entry into aerial arts, which makes it a great first choice. No experience required for this class.
  2. Intermediate Aerial Hammock

Intermediate Aerial Hammock builds on the foundations learned in Beginner Aerial Hammock. Each class starts with a warm-up and conditioning before transitioning into flows, drops, spins, and wraps. Intermediate hammock explores longer, more intricate choreography that challenges students to come up with new pathways and movements. This class is perfect for students who have taken multiple beginner hammock classes. Please consult with your instructor before advancing to this class.
  3. Intro to Aerial

Step into the world of aerial arts with our Intro to Aerial class. Perfect for beginners, you'll learn the basics of aerial techniques, including climbs, spins, and sequences. Discover new ways to build strength and confidence while having fun.
  4. Beginner Silks

Beginner Silks builds on the fundamentals learned in Intro to Aerial. The class starts with a warm-up and then moves into the essential building blocks of aerial silks, including wraps, drops, inversions, and dynamic sequences. Participants combine movements to create seamless choreography. Students need to be proficient in climbing to take this class.
  5. Lyra

Experience the beauty of the aerial hoop with our Lyra class. Learn to enter the hoop gracefully, master stunning poses, and perform spins. This class blends strength and elegance, helping you express yourself with confidence.
  6. Aerial Yoga

A Hatha inspired practice that uses the support of the hammock to create safety, stability, and ease within the body. The hammock allows you to decompress the spine, release tension, and explore movement in ways that may feel limited on the mat. Rooted in traditional yoga principles, this class supports both physical and mental wellbeing while helping you discover new levels of strength, flexibility, balance, and mindfulness.
